Dear Reader,
A few weeks ago, I stepped out of Waterloo Station and paused.
The familiar rhythm of London’s black cabs passed by — weaving through the city, unnoticed by most.
But for me, it wasn’t just traffic.
It was memory.
My dad was a faithful pastor in the Philippines.
But to raise us, he also drove a taxi for over 20 years through Manila’s chaotic streets.
He preached on Sundays and picked up passengers by sunrise.
He carried both a Bible and a steering wheel — a life poured out for God and for us.
He died at 60.
I’m now 43.
If I live as long as he did, I may have just 17 years left.
Not in fear.
Not in burnout.
But in clarity.
That thought didn’t crush me.
It called me.
If I only had 17 years left to live for Jesus and this generation — how would I spend them?
I know the answer:
All in. All here. All heart.
What does “all in” look like right now?
Right now, it looks like Tooting, South London — one of the most diverse, vibrant, and spiritually open neighbourhoods I’ve encountered.
In just two square miles, you’ll meet people from over 70 nations, including many young professionals, migrants, and multigenerational families.
The median age? Just 34.
It’s a living crossroads of cultures — and potentially, a launchpad for a new gospel work.
We’re not planting a program.
We’re planting our lives.
Presence before programs.
People before plans.
We don’t have it all figured out.
But we’re moving forward in obedience to the great commission.
Why I’m Writing You
You’ve been part of this story — praying, supporting, giving.
I want to say two things clearly:
- Thank you. Your partnership is what makes this ministry possible.
- We’re here to make disciples of all nations. The mission hasn’t changed — it’s just getting sharper.
We’re not following trends. We’re redeeming time (Ephesians 5:16).
And if I’ve got 17 years left to preach Christ and make disciples in this city — I want to spend every one of them poured out.
Will you keep standing with us?
Will you keep sowing into this next season?
We’re here. We’re steady.
And by God’s grace — we’re all in.
If my dad had a bible and a steering wheel, my wife and I have a bible and a passport.
With love and deep thanks,
Ian and Van Daguman
